
Meet The Chef

Masa's passion and respect for quality food was developed at a young age growing up in a small Island of Hokkaido, Japan, inspired by his parents who owned a Kappo (traditional multi-course meal style) restaurant. Masa attended Tsuji Culinary Institute in Osaka where he learnt Italian cooking techniques and discovered his interest in European cuisine as well as Japanese cuisine. After graduation Masa begun his career at the Italian restaurant in Tokyo. He sought opportunities to further develop his own creativity and career and moved to London. In 2008 Masa joined Zuma London as sushi chef, where he established a balance of traditional and fusion Japanese cuisine. After 7 years experience at Zuma, Masa took advantage of his various background in Culinary and he started working as a private household chef.
